Peelable rotten skin?

My son has some zombie contest at school so we're experimenting with makeup using craft supplies.

This is after it was removed, looks ever more disgusting.

So a few days ago I decided to do some work on simple, but well made barrettes. Its difficult to make inexpensive leather items, but I think they turned out pretty cute :)
Today? Beads! I've missed making them, not so much sanding...
